About Mr Dan Fletcher

Mr Dan Fletcher arrived in Bendigo in August 2011 from the UK.

He grew up in a small town called Salcombe in South Devon, England with his three older sisters. He spent his youth sailing, windsurfing and mountain biking with friends.

He qualified as a doctor in the UK in 1995 from the University of Wales, College of Medicine  in Cardiff. His senior surgical training in colorectal surgery was based in and around Sheffield, South Yorkshire. He also spent time as a tutor and research fellow at Sheffield University.  Following extensive training around the UK he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh  in 2007. He worked as a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at the busy Chesterfield and North Derbyshire District Hospital  before deciding to make the move to Australia in 2011.

He is happily settled in Bendigo with his wife and three children and enjoys supporting Richmond Football Club, the outdoor lifestyle and sampling the local food and wine.
